Useful Apps

One I'd add to the list is Ranchr. It's specifically built for cattle record keeping rather than grazing management. If you're looking to track individual animals (ear tags, treatments, weights, calving, health history), it's really good for that.

The two things that sold me: it works completely offline (just syncs later), and it's way more affordable than the bigger platforms. Free for smaller herds, about $10/month for the full version with web dashboard, reports, and multi-user access so your hired hands can enter records too.

It's not trying to be an all-in-one farm management suite. It just does cattle records really well. ranchr.com

Hey Brian, started on the free version just to see how it worked. Kept it for a few months. Upgraded when I put on a hired hand and wanted him to be able to enter records too without handing over my phone. The web dashboard is handy as well, lets me pull things up on the computer at the house. For the price I figured it was worth it. If you are running a smaller operation the free version does the job fine though.
